Robinhood Classic Stock Token alternatives
Robinhood makes stock-price exposure simple inside its European app. People look for an alternative when they want a portable token, a different issuer or access outside Robinhood. These five routes solve different parts of that problem.
What Robinhood Classic Stock Tokens does well
Robinhood is the easiest route here for an existing Robinhood Europe customer. The minimum is €1, trading runs from Monday 02:00 to Saturday 02:00 CET or CEST, and the only Robinhood fee named on the product page is a 0.10% foreign-exchange fee. The underlying assets are held by a US-licensed institution and the product is offered by Robinhood Europe under MiFID II.
The limit people run into
A Classic Stock Token is a derivative contract between you and Robinhood. It is not the underlying share, grants no rights to that share and cannot currently be sent to another wallet or platform.
Five alternatives
1Kraken xStocks
The closest app-level alternative. Kraken lists more than 100 xStocks beside crypto, starts at $1 and supports withdrawal to a compatible wallet. That last point is the decisive difference from Robinhood: the token can leave the venue. xStocks still are not shares and grant no voting rights. Kraken excludes the US, Canada, UK and Australia, so the geography may decide before the product does.
Kraken xStocks2xStocks in your own wallet
The portability-first answer. You acquire an xStock through a supporting venue and withdraw it to a wallet you control. The token can then move peer to peer and xStocks names onchain venues where supported tokens can be used. You take responsibility for the wallet and network costs, and moving the token does not bypass the issuer geofence.
xStocks3Ondo Global Markets, direct
The issuer-direct route. You connect a wallet, mint or redeem with Ondo Global Markets and receive a token that transfers onchain. It covers fewer names and chains than xStocks, but direct redemption can matter more than catalogue size. It is for eligible non-US persons and is not a route around country restrictions.
Ondo Global Markets4Dinari dShares
The route to examine if a regulated brokerage structure matters most. Dinari describes acquisitions through an SEC-registered, FINRA-member broker-dealer, with underlying shares held by Alpaca Securities. The token may sit in a verified wallet, while the underlying asset remains with the custodian. Availability and accreditation rules depend on the jurisdiction and asset.
Dinari dShares5FensoryOurs
Ours, fifth. Fensory puts Ondo and xStocks tokens on one account alongside treasuries, gold, crypto spot and perpetual futures, and an AI agent can use the same account through MCP. Tokens settle to a wallet you control. The catalogue is much smaller than either issuer publishes, and Fensory is not available to US persons.

Side by side
| Option | Who holds the funds | What stops a bad order | What it trades | Where you can open it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kraken xStocks | Kraken until withdrawal. You after withdrawal to a compatible wallet | No xStocks-specific order cap documented on the product page | xStocks tokenized US stocks and ETFs, alongside Kraken crypto markets | Available to eligible non-US clients. Not available in the US, Canada, UK or Australia |
| xStocks in your own wallet | You | None. Self-custody means the mistakes are yours too | Tokenized US stocks and ETFs | Same exclusions as above. The issuer restricts the asset, not the wallet |
| Ondo Global Markets, direct | You. Tokens transfer peer to peer | None documented beyond eligibility | Tokenized US stocks and ETFs | Not available in the United States. Eligible non-US persons only, outside restricted jurisdictions |
| Dinari dShares | Split. The token is yours; the underlying shares are "held in custody by a registered US broker-dealer" | Wallets "must clear KYC/KYB verification before interacting with dShares", and accredited-investor status is "enforced at the contract level" where legally required | Tokenized US stocks, ETFs, BDCs and REITs | More than 85 jurisdictions, including the EU under MiFID II, Hong Kong and Latin America. Dinari also uses a US-facing broker-dealer structure |
| Fensory | You. Tokens settle to a wallet you control | a kill-switch, a market allow-list and a per-order cap, enforced on the account | MCP: Hyperliquid spot and perpetual futures. App: tokenized US equities and treasuries, and gold | Not available to US persons. Fensory AG is Swiss |
Questions people ask
- Are Robinhood Classic Stock Tokens actual shares?
- No. Robinhood describes them as derivative contracts that follow the prices of publicly traded stocks and ETFs. Buying one does not buy the underlying share and does not grant rights to it.
- Can I transfer a Robinhood Classic Stock Token to my wallet?
- No. Robinhood says Classic Stock Tokens cannot currently be sent to another wallet or platform. Kraken supports xStocks withdrawals, while Ondo Global Markets issues freely transferable onchain tokens to eligible users.
- Which alternative is closest to Robinhood?
- Kraken xStocks is the closest app-level route because it combines tokenized stocks with other markets in one venue and starts at a small minimum. The important difference is that Kraken supports withdrawal to a compatible wallet.
- Which option works in the United States?
- Dinari is the route in this comparison with a US-facing broker-dealer structure. xStocks, Ondo Global Markets and Fensory exclude US persons. Eligibility still depends on Dinari terms, the asset and the buyer, so check the current product requirements.
- Does a portable token mean I own the underlying share?
- No. Portability describes where the token can move. The issuer documentation determines what the token represents and which rights attach to it. xStocks and Ondo tokens are not the same as holding the underlying security.
- Robinhood facts were read on the current About Classic Stock Tokens and trading support pages on 8 October 2026. The page states the instrument, hours, minimum, fee and transfer restriction directly.
- Every comparison cell and every alternative row is pulled from /best/tokenized-stocks-platforms by reference. If a source row changes, this page changes with it rather than keeping an older copy.
- The options are ordered by the wall they remove: app-level portability, direct self-custody, issuer redemption, regulatory structure, then multi-issuer agent access. This is not a score and Fensory is listed last.
