Crypto Wallet

Software or hardware that stores private keys and enables crypto transactions.

What is a Crypto Wallet?

A crypto wallet stores the private keys needed to access and manage your cryptocurrency. It doesn't actually store coins. Those exist on the blockchain.

Wallet Types

  • Hot wallets: Connected to internet (MetaMask, Phantom)
  • Cold wallets: Offline storage (Ledger, Trezor)
  • Smart contract wallets: Programmable (Safe)

Security Best Practices

  • Never share your seed phrase
  • Use hardware wallets for large holdings
  • Verify transaction details before signing
