Step-by-Step Instructions

1

Prepare Wallets

Ensure you have wallets for both source and destination chains. For Solana, use Phantom.

Tips

  • Get destination chain wallet address ready
  • You need gas on destination for claiming
2

Visit Portal Bridge

Go to portalbridge.com and select the token transfer option.

Warnings

  • Only use portalbridge.com
  • Beware of phishing sites
3

Select Source and Destination

Choose your source chain and destination chain from the dropdowns.

Tips

  • Popular routes: ETH to Solana, Solana to ETH
  • Check supported tokens for your route
4

Connect Wallets

Connect wallet for source chain. You will connect destination wallet later.

Tips

  • MetaMask for EVM chains
  • Phantom for Solana
5

Select Token and Amount

Choose token to bridge and enter amount. Review fees and destination amount.

Tips

  • USDC bridges natively on many routes now
  • Check if wrapped or native on destination

Warnings

  • Some tokens become wrapped versions
6

Initiate Transfer

Approve token if needed, then confirm the bridge transaction.

Tips

  • Transaction needs to finalize on source chain
  • Wait for confirmation
7

Claim on Destination

Connect destination wallet and claim your bridged tokens.

Tips

  • Need small gas on destination to claim
  • Automatic relayer sometimes covers this
8

Verify Receipt

Check your destination wallet for bridged assets.

Tips

  • May need to add token to wallet
  • Wormhole-wrapped assets have W prefix
