Tokenized stock trading hours and settlement
Tokenized stocks may trade around the clock on a secondary market, while direct minting and redemption follow a separate issuer schedule. Ondo Stocks and xStocks both make that distinction, but their windows, settlement paths and dividend treatment differ.
The issuer comparison
The table separates secondary trading from direct issuance and redemption. A platform can keep a market open while the issuer window is closed, using the liquidity available on that platform.
| Issuer | Chains | Secondary trading | Direct mint and redeem | Settlement | Dividends | Direct redemption |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ondo StocksThe ticker ends in "on", such as TSLAon. | Ethereum, BNB Chain and Solana. | Tokens can be transferred and traded peer to peer around the clock where the exchange, wallet or DeFi venue supports it. | Direct minting and redemption run from Sunday 8:00 p.m. ET to Friday 7:59 p.m. ET for the full catalogue. NVDAon, SPYon, CRCLon, TSLAon, QQQon, GOOGLon are also available for direct minting and redemption around the clock, outside scheduled downtime and other stated exceptions. | Eligible users mint and redeem from a connected wallet. Redemptions return stablecoins representing the underlying asset cash value when redemption is available. | Dividends are reinvested into the underlying security, net of applicable withholding tax. The token tracks total return rather than paying a cash dividend to the holder. | Direct redemption requires Ondo onboarding and eligibility. Issuer services can pause for corporate actions, market conditions, system controls or scheduled downtime. |
| xStocksThe ticker ends in "x", such as TSLAx. | Ethereum, Solana, TON, Ink and other supported EVM-compatible networks. | Secondary-market trading can run around the clock, depending on the platform. Available liquidity and prices can differ while the underlying market is closed. | Direct issuance and redemption run five days a week, aligned with underlying-market hours. | The xChange RFQ transfers the token and stablecoin legs atomically. Either both settle in one transaction or neither does, with no partial fill after the quote is authorized. | The economic benefit is reflected through rebasing, net of applicable taxes, fees and product terms. Timing can vary by platform and operational process. | Direct issuer redemption requires KYC and carries a $5,000 minimum. Most users access secondary-market liquidity through a platform instead. |
Hours and eligibility can change. Check the issuer and the platform you use before relying on a schedule.
What 24/7 does and does not mean
Secondary trading
A venue may let buyers and sellers trade tokens while the underlying stock exchange is closed. The available price then comes from that venue’s orders and liquidity. It can differ from the last regular-session price, and a venue may pause or limit trading on its own schedule.
Direct mint and redemption
This is the issuer path that creates a token or redeems it for its cash value under the product terms. It follows the issuer’s own window, eligibility checks and operational controls, even when a secondary market remains open.
How settlement and dividends differ
Ondo Stocks and xStocks both provide economic exposure through tokens rather than the underlying share. Ondo says eligible users mint and redeem from a connected wallet and that dividends are reinvested into the underlying security. xStocks documents an atomic quote-and-transfer process for direct issuance and redemption, and reflects dividend value through rebasing.
Neither structure automatically gives a token holder the shareholder or voting rights attached to the underlying share. Those rights, redemption terms, tax treatment and corporate-action handling come from the issuer documents for the specific product.
Where Fensory fits
Fensory’s app carries tokenized equities from both issuer families. They are separate from the stock-named perpetual futures reached through the current MCP trading route. A perpetual future tracks a price, can use leverage and does not settle as a tokenized equity.
Methodology
We read the current first-party product pages, issuer FAQs, trading-hours guidance and service-status page. We record issuer-wide rules rather than one exchange’s opening hours, and separate a secondary-market session from the issuer’s direct mint and redemption window. The table is rechecked when an issuer changes its terms or availability.
This is a schedule and settlement reference, not a live market-status feed. Temporary halts, corporate actions, holidays, platform maintenance and local eligibility rules can change what is available at a given moment.
Questions people ask
- Can tokenized stocks trade 24/7?
- They can trade around the clock on a secondary market when the platform supports it. That does not mean the issuer mints and redeems every token 24/7, or that liquidity is unchanged while the underlying stock market is closed.
- When can I mint or redeem Ondo Stocks?
- Direct minting and redemption run from Sunday 8:00 p.m. ET to Friday 7:59 p.m. ET for the full catalogue. NVDAon, SPYon, CRCLon, TSLAon, QQQon, GOOGLon are also available for direct minting and redemption around the clock, outside scheduled downtime and other stated exceptions.
- When can I trade, issue or redeem xStocks?
- Secondary-market trading can run around the clock, depending on the platform. Available liquidity and prices can differ while the underlying market is closed. Direct issuance and redemption run five days a week, aligned with underlying-market hours.
- How do dividends work for Ondo Stocks and xStocks?
- Ondo: Dividends are reinvested into the underlying security, net of applicable withholding tax. The token tracks total return rather than paying a cash dividend to the holder. xStocks: The economic benefit is reflected through rebasing, net of applicable taxes, fees and product terms. Timing can vary by platform and operational process.
- Does a tokenized stock settle as the underlying share?
- No. The token provides economic exposure under the issuer terms. It is not the underlying share and does not automatically provide shareholder or voting rights.
- Can the Fensory MCP server trade these tokenized stocks?
- The tokenized-equity catalogues are available in the Fensory app. The current MCP stock route reaches stock-named perpetual futures, which are derivatives and do not settle as tokenized equities.
