Tokenized commodities and futures
Fensory reaches commodities through two different instruments. The app includes selected gold, silver and oil-linked ETF tokens from Ondo Stocks and xStocks. The MCP commodity path reaches perpetual futures on the xyz builder dex for gold, silver, platinum, palladium, copper, natural gas, WTI crude and Brent crude. A token can settle to a wallet; a future uses margin, provides synthetic price exposure and conveys no claim on a physical commodity.

Two routes to a commodity price
A tokenized commodity-linked ETF and a commodity perpetual future can follow the same market without giving the holder the same instrument.
| Tokenized ETF route | Perpetual-futures route | |
|---|---|---|
| Instrument | Token issued against a commodity-linked ETF | Derivative with no expiry date |
| Access on Fensory | Selected in the app | Terminal and MCP |
| Settlement | Can settle to a wallet, subject to issuer terms | Position remains at the venue against margin |
| Hours | Issuer and underlying-market sessions | Continuous venue trading |
| Leverage | None implied by the token | Available by market |
| Physical delivery | No | No |
Gold is the clearest example
Ondo Stocks publishes tokenized products linked to precious-metals ETFs, including gold and silver products. These are tokenized securities linked to ETF structures. They are not physical bars held directly by the user.
The gold perpetual future is synthetic price exposure. It has margin, funding and liquidation risk, and it conveys no claim on gold or on an ETF share. Asking for gold without naming the instrument leaves an important part of the order unspecified.
How an assistant should handle the choice
A connected assistant should first identify whether the request means a tokenized product or a perpetual future, then show the relevant hours, custody, fees and risks before preparing an order.
For the futures route, the account still enforces a kill-switch, an access expiry, a market allow-list and a per-order cap. A per-order cap limits order size, not cumulative loss, and a leveraged position can still be liquidated.

Questions people ask
- What is a tokenized commodity?
- On Fensory, the tokenized route is generally a tokenized security linked to a commodity ETF, such as a gold or silver ETF. It is not a bar of metal and its rights are set by the issuer documentation.
- What is a commodity perpetual future?
- A derivative that tracks a commodity reference price without an expiry date. It uses margin and funding, can be leveraged and can be liquidated. It does not give ownership of the physical commodity.
- Can an AI agent trade gold through Fensory?
- The MCP commodity path reaches the gold perpetual future. Tokenized gold products are available through the app. State which instrument you mean because the settlement, fees and risks are different.
- Do commodity markets close?
- Tokenized commodity products follow their issuer and underlying-market sessions. Commodity perpetual futures trade continuously at the venue, although liquidity can still vary by hour.
- Do I own physical gold or oil?
- No. A tokenized commodity-linked ETF is a token tied to a security issued against an ETF structure. A commodity perpetual future is synthetic price exposure. Neither means a physical commodity is delivered to you.
