Best AI trading agents: live, paper and open-source routes compared

An AI trading agent can mean four different things: an assistant connected to your account, a supplied agent that trades for you, a framework you run yourself, or a paper experiment with no real money. This comparison keeps those categories separate, checks every product against its own documentation and states where geography is not published. Fensory publishes the page and appears in the table.

Published 2026-10-23, last edited 2026-10-23. Every competitor claim was read against its own source on 2026-10-23. The page is re-checked when a source changes and at least quarterly. Fensory appears in this comparison and sells a trading account.

First decide what you mean by an agent

Fensory connects an assistant the user already has. Minara Agent combines its own finance agent with direct and automated execution modes. Agent Arcade supplies the agents and turns their live positions into a leaderboard that users can copy or counter. Senpi supplies agents and an MCP surface. These are live products, but they do not ask the user to operate the same thing.

OpenProphet is a framework. Its value is code ownership, model choice and paper validation, while the operator owns setup and uptime. ProphetX is a paper laboratory using live Polymarket prices. DX Terminal Pro is a bounded onchain experiment where agents alone trade the experiment’s own coins. Calling all three live trading platforms would erase the distinction a reader needs most.

The practical comparison is therefore execution first, then the boundary around it. Check whether real money moves, who supplies the agent, where funds sit, which limits are enforced outside the model and whether the product publishes country eligibility. A long feature list cannot answer any of those questions.

Seven products, four different jobs

Fensory

OursOfficial project

Our own, and available only outside the United States. A hosted MCP server reaches Hyperliquid spot and perpetual futures, including supported builder-dex markets. The app separately surfaces tokenized US stocks and treasuries and gold. Fensory sets a kill-switch, an access expiry, a market allow-list and a per-order cap on the account.

What it reaches
MCP: Hyperliquid spot and perpetual futures. App: tokenized US equities and treasuries, and gold
Cost
Free to connect. 0.01% to 0.05% on perpetual futures and Hyperliquid spot, nothing on tokenized equities, yields or bridging

Choose this if: You want US equity exposure without a US brokerage account, on the same account as crypto and perpetual futures, and you want the backend to refuse an order that breaks your cap or your allow-list before it reaches a venue.

Worth knowing: Tokenized equities are not shares: you hold a token an issuer mints against shares it holds, and perpetual futures convey no ownership at all. The cap is per order and not a limit on total losses, so orders inside your limits can still lose money.

The Fensory MCP server

Minara Agent

Official project

An open-source finance agent and the engine behind the Minara dashboard. It combines research, workflows, direct trading and an Autopilot mode, with a local command-line route and a hosted product surface.

What it reaches
Crypto spot across supported chains, perpetual futures on Hyperliquid and Lighter, supported tokenized equities, DeFi swaps and Polymarket.
Cost
The agent repository is Apache-2.0. A universal hosted-product price is not published; venue, network and routed transaction costs can apply.

Choose this if: You want one finance-specific agent across research, workflows and several execution routes, and you are comfortable reviewing which wallet, venue and permission mode each action uses.

Worth knowing: The older minara.ai FAQ calls its built-in consumer wallet custodial, while the newer Minara Agent documentation says keys stay in the user wallet. Treat those as separate surfaces and verify the route before funding it.

Minara Agent documentation

Agent Arcade

Official project

A Hyperliquid-based autonomous-agent platform. It supplies agents associated with OpenAI, Claude, Gemini and Grok, places their live positions on one chart, and lets users copy, counter or combine those positions.

What it reaches
More than 100 Hyperliquid perpetual-futures markets across crypto, stock-named, index, metal and energy contracts. These are derivatives, not shares or tokenized holdings.
Cost
No subscription. A 0.10% Hyperliquid builder fee is charged when a trade opens, plus Hyperliquid exchange fees on entry and exit.

Choose this if: You want to compare supplied agents on a live chart and act through copy or counter trades, rather than connect an assistant you already use.

Worth knowing: The leaderboard is part of the product experience, not a guarantee of future performance. The public page documents no hard order or loss cap, and leveraged perpetual futures can be liquidated.

Agent Arcade

Senpi

Official project

Personal trading agents for Hyperliquid perpetual futures, launched 24 February 2026, with an MCP surface of 62 tools, up from the 31 its launch coverage reported. Each strategy runs against its own funded wallet rather than a shared balance, and the skills repository is open source under MIT.

What it reaches
Hyperliquid perpetual futures only. ~230 crypto and ~95 equities, metals, indices and pre-IPO
Cost
0.05% on perpetual futures auto-trades, no recurring platform fee, plus Hyperliquid fees and a $1 activation per strategy wallet

Choose this if: You want loss limits rather than order limits. Senpi documents a daily-loss halt and a drawdown breaker, which stop a losing run; a per-order cap, ours included, does not. It is the closest product on this page to what we do, and unlike us it is open to readers in the US.

Worth knowing: Perpetual futures only, so there is no tokenized equity to hold and no spot. It does not replace a brokerage, and its custody wording is close enough to ours that the real difference is the instrument set and the shape of the limits.

Senpi skills repository

OpenProphet

Community project

An open-source local framework and web interface for running multiple language-model trading agents. It connects isolated Alpaca paper or live accounts and exposes a separate MCP tool server.

What it reaches
Whatever the connected Alpaca account and enabled tools support.
Cost
Open source. Optional paid setup material and support are sold separately.

Choose this if: You want to run the orchestration layer yourself, select the model and inspect or change the code, with paper trading available before live access is enabled.

Worth knowing: Self-hosting transfers uptime, secrets, testing and monitoring to the operator. A framework does not provide a brokerage account or remove Alpaca eligibility requirements.

OpenProphet

ProphetX

Official project

A paper-trading environment for agents that use live Polymarket order books and virtual capital. Users can deploy a template or call a builder API, and every simulated fill is recorded in a tamper-evident public ledger.

What it reaches
Prediction markets priced from live Polymarket order books.
Cost
Free for up to three template agents according to the current product page.

Choose this if: You want a public, reproducible place to test agent behaviour against live prediction-market prices before risking money.

Worth knowing: The capital, fills and returns are simulated. A paper record does not prove that the same strategy can execute at the same price with real liquidity and real costs.

ProphetX

DX Terminal Pro

Official project

An experimental 21-day agent-only market on Base. Human participants fund a vault and configure a mission, while agents alone trade the experiment’s platform-native coins in Uniswap V4 pools.

What it reaches
Platform-native Genesis Coins created for the experiment.
Cost
No general product price is stated. Participation requires the relevant NFT, funded vault and network costs.

Choose this if: You want to study or participate in a bounded onchain experiment where agent behaviour is the market mechanism itself.

Worth knowing: This is explicitly experimental, uses real capital and limits trading to its own temporary market. It is not a substitute for a multi-market trading account.

How we checked

Products were included when their own public documentation described an agent, agent framework or agent-only market with a concrete trading or paper-trading path. Directory listings and third-party roundups were not used as evidence.

Live execution, paper execution and an experiment are labelled separately. A simulated fill is not treated as a live order, and a framework is not treated as a venue. Stock-named and commodity-named Hyperliquid markets are described as perpetual futures rather than shares or tokenized holdings.

Fensory and Senpi reuse the exact product records already shown on the non-US agentic-trading roundup. Minara Agent, Agent Arcade, OpenProphet, ProphetX and DX Terminal Pro were re-read on 23 October 2026. SQUAD and Beep are listed as adjacent rather than ranked as substitutes.

Fensory publishes this page and sells one of the products. The page gives each product a specific reason to choose it, names Fensory’s geography and product boundaries, and leaves undocumented geography as undocumented.

Questions people ask

What is the best AI trading agent?
There is no single best product because the category contains different jobs. Choose an account connector such as Fensory when you want to use an assistant you already have, a supplied-agent product such as Agent Arcade when you want a leaderboard and copy or counter actions, Minara Agent when you want a broader finance-specific agent, OpenProphet when you want to self-host, and ProphetX when the goal is paper testing.
Which AI trading agents use real money?
Fensory, Minara Agent, Agent Arcade and Senpi document live execution. OpenProphet can reach live Alpaca accounts when the operator enables live tools. ProphetX is paper only. DX Terminal Pro uses real capital inside a bounded experiment rather than a general trading account.
Can an AI trading agent trade stocks?
The word stocks can hide different instruments. Some routes reach ordinary brokerage shares, some reach tokenized equities, and others reach stock-named perpetual futures. Fensory’s current MCP path reaches supported perpetual futures, while tokenized equities remain on its app side. Check the instrument before comparing features.
Which AI trading agent works with Claude or ChatGPT?
Fensory connects supported external assistants through MCP. OpenProphet lets the operator choose a supported model through its local framework. Agent Arcade supplies agents associated with several model families rather than connecting the user’s existing Claude or ChatGPT account. Minara Agent supplies its own finance-agent runtime and documents model choice separately.
Are AI trading agents non-custodial?
Some products use user-controlled wallets, some use broker or exchange accounts, and some split the route. The label alone is not enough for perpetual futures because margin still sits in the venue account. Read the custody and key-handling row for the specific product and instrument.
Is an AI trading leaderboard proof that an agent will keep performing?
No. A leaderboard reports a product’s chosen historical or live window. It can help inspect activity and drawdown, but it does not establish future results. Check the measurement window, fees, instrument, leverage and whether the record is paper or live.
What limits should an AI trading agent have?
Useful controls include a market allow-list, an order-size cap, access expiry, a kill switch, loss or drawdown limits and a confirmation rule for high-risk actions. No single control covers every failure mode, and a funded balance is still at risk when individual orders stay inside the rules.
